Have fun with your children this Easter with this Easter Egg Trail game. The idea is to place your colour egg posters around the outside area / playground or school for children to locate. They then mark off what they have found on the Easter Egg Trail recording sheets. There is a colour and a black and white version of the recording sheets. There are 16 colour posters included showing the different designs of Easter eggs. There are also 16 sheets where there is a colour and black and white picture of each of the eggs. Children can colour in the black and white pictures to make them the same as the colour ones or choose their own colours. They could also cut the eggs out to add to a class frieze or Easter display. Here are 50 practical ideas for your EYFS / KS1 or / and SEN pupils. These are all everyday things found in the home, school or garden. Each page shows 5 colour pictures with ideas for sorting. These pictures are good to cut out too and add to any jars or collections the children make. Arm yourself with sorting trays such as bun trays, jars, bags, egg boxes or draw inserts/cutlery trays. Children have a range of practical opportunities all around them for sorting in various ways including colour, shape, pattern, sets, texture, taste, smell and feel. ****Remember some items may be unsuitable for small children such as marbles, without careful supervision.

A fun activity linked to Colour, Sorting, Easter, Spring or Animals. There are 6 bunny pictures in different colours to cut and sort - green, yellow, white, pink, blue and orange. Page 1 can shows all 6 colour bunnies. The other pages show 6 of each colours - e.g. 6 yellow bunnies or 6 blue. Cut and laminate the bunnies for durability and for playing games such as Lotto, Sorting, Counting and Matching. Page 1 with the 6 different colour bunnies can be used as a base board and children can find matching bunnies to place on top. The white bunnies can also be coloured in by children and then cut and matched.

These memory games are based on Kim’s game which generally uses objects. Each game has 5 colour pictures all with a topic theme: Farm Characters/people Transport Bugs Buildings Seaside Garden Stationary Circus Feelings Page 1 gives the teacher instructions on how to play the game. Then there is a worksheet to go with each topic. These are for the children to write their lists on and to cut and order the pictures from memory. There is a blank template that you can use for any other topic you are teaching. Extend the amount of pictures for more able /older children. This game links to maths /number/counting to 5 and literacy, speaking and listening and list writing as well as sequencing.
